About Matrixvibes

Matrixvibes exists because one sentence keeps getting more true: the more of life reaches us through technology, the more it matters to tell a representation from the thing it represents.

A sister site, Matrix-Vibes.com, centers on the simulation hypothesis and the feeling that the physical and the constructed are blurring. Matrixvibes.org takes the same instinct in a more research-minded direction. We still ask the big question about simulated reality. We spend more time on the smaller ones that already affect people: a chatbot that sounds certain, a deepfake that sounds like your sister, a search result that stands in for your name.

Who we write for

Technology readers, philosophy students, developers, VR users, gamers, futurists and anyone who has read a breathless headline about AI and wanted someone to check it. Most of our readers are in the US, Canada, the UK, Australia and Europe, but the questions don’t have borders.

What we cover

Six sections, which we call layers: Simulation Theory, Consciousness, Philosophy of Mind, Artificial Intelligence, AI & Consciousness and Virtual Reality. Digital identity, deepfakes, synthetic media, brain-computer interfaces and augmented reality run through all of them. Long reads live in the Reality Layer.

How we write and check

One more rule, because this topic attracts it: we won’t tell anyone that the people or institutions around them aren’t real. Questioning how reality reaches us is healthy. Deciding the world is fake is not where this publication goes.
